Send a thank you email when a customer writes a review on product with Shopify Flow and Klaviyo

After a customer leaves a review on a product, you want to send a thank you email with a discount code to the customer. Or send an email with a bad review. The instructions below will help you do that automatically. It will help you to sell more products.

Necessary things you need to do:

You need have a store on Shopify
Requires installation of the following apps: “Flow”, “A2Reviews – Product Reviews”, “Klaviyo: Email Marketing & SMS”
You need an account on klaviyo.com and it’s working.

Steps to setup:

Creating a new workflow

From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.
From the Apps and sales channels page, click Shopify Flow.
Click Open app.
Click Create workflow.
Click Select a trigger, and then select the trigger that starts the workflow. Here we choose “New review: A2Reviews – New review received ”
Click Output to create a new step. Click Condition, and then select the condition that must be met before any actions can be run.
Click Then to select the action to be taken if the condition you set is true. Click Actions and select the action that runs based on the results of the condition.
Add action

You set the fields like the image below:

Event Properties:

Click New Workflow, and then enter a title for your workflow.
To start using your workflow, click Turn on workflow.

Creating a new flow in Klaviyo.com

Go to app page: https://www.klaviyo.com/flows

Click Create Flow button >> Create From Scratch then Then name Flow
After fill the name for the Flows and click the “Create Flow” button, The system will redirect to the “Trigger Setup” screen. You need to select the “Metric” type as shown below.
When you choose the action for the flow, look for New Review This event name is set from Shopify flow in the step above. Please select New Review to go to the next step
In this step drag and drop the elements as shown below.
Click “Trigger Split” element to setup the condition.
For example, when a customer leave a review with 4, 5 star rating, system will send a thank you email, in which you can include a discount code for the next product purchase.
With reviews from 1-3 stars, we consider it a negative review and the system will send the customer an email apologizing.
You need to set up the template for the emails.
There is one thing to note about the “Smart Sending” option. You need to turn it off if you always want customers to receive emails with the same content when leave a review.

Summary

After you complete the above steps, you already have an automated marketing system. Help you increase the rate of customers returning to buy.

Why can’t I import reviews from AliExpress?

Once the A2Reviews app is installed in the Shopify store, the store is connected to the app. But I ran into the problem of not being able to import reviews from AliExpress. This is a problem in a few cases.

Do some of the following checks:

Make sure you have installed A2Reviews chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/a2reviews-aliexpressamazo/hpkciffmmkehlgidnpeoagmkghpkdgai
Check if you’re getting Captcha from AliExpress.
– To check for captcha, go to an AliExpress product where you are looking to import reviews from that product.
– Then scroll and scroll to the product reviews, You can see that the section shows captcha if AliExpress is looking to verify from you. You just need to drag the slider from left to right to verify. Then go to the A2Reviews app and try to import reviews again.
If you have A2Reviews chrome extension installed and get no Captcha, you can uninstall it and try to install it again. Then go to the app try to import the reviews from AliExpress.

How to create a featured reviews page on Shopify?

First, you need to understand what feature reviews on A2Reviews are?

Feature reviews: Defined as exceptional reviews, manually selected by you. It is marked as a special star on the A2Reviews system.

Purpose: The purpose is to provide you with a list of exceptional reviews. Allow them to be displayed on your website. Let your customers see those special reviews. Help them have a quick review of the product they want to buy. And make the decision to buy the product.

Things that need to be done to be able to show feature reviews.

A. Things to do on the A2 Reviews application (app.a2rev.com).

Go to https://app.a2rev.com/#/reviews-manager and select special reviews to display on your feature page.

B. Things to do on your admin store (yourstore.myshopify.com)

1. In your admin store page, on the left sidebar menu, click on “Online Store > Pages”
2. Click the “Add Page” button
3. Add the title for this page for example, “Feature reviews”

Click <> button then copy and paste the snippet code above to the content area.

4. Click the “Save” button for completion.

Reviews are not displayed after update the product handle

The handle object

You can find out more information about the product handle here, the Shopify handle object.

Your problem is that when you change the product handle in Shopify, the reviews on that product will no longer show up on your website.

How to fix:

Look for that product in the product list of A2reviews app. https://app.a2rev.com/#/products
Click the Edit product button
When the product edit box opened, click on “Automatically update” button then “Save”

All done!

Add A2Reviews snippet code manually in Shopify theme

Some reasons that A2Reviews cannot add snippet code to your Shopify theme, you can do it manually.

* Display total reviews widget on the product page:

In your theme, open this file sections/product-template.liquid. Add snippet code below to anywhere want to display total reviews.

or with ajax load

* Display total reviews widget on the collection page:

Each Shopify theme can have different file names to display the product list on the collection page. Find a suitable position to display total reviews. Snippet code below you can add.
